Der T-90 ist der modernste Kampfpanzer der russischen Armee.

Die zweite Generation, der T-90A, wird seit 1999 produziert.

Größte Unterscheidungsmerkmale zum ursprünglichen T-90

sind die neuen Endverbinderketten, der geschweißte Turm

sowie der Motor. Weiterhin verfügt der T-90A über eine 125 mm

Glattrohrkanone die verschiedene Munitionssorten und auch

Lenkﬂ ugkörper verschießen kann. Es werden 45 Schuss Munition

mitgeführt, davon 22 im Magazin des automatischen Laders.

Die vorteilhafte niedrige Silhouette, die Reaktivpanzerung vom

Typ Kontakt-5 und das Selbstschutzsystem TShU-1 Schtora-1

blieben erhalten. Letzteres soll anﬂ iegende Lenkﬂ ugkörper

täuschen. Das leistungsstarke 12-Zylinder-Diesel Triebwerk mit

735 kW (1000 PS) verschafft dem T-90A eine hohe Beweglichkeit.

Nach wie vor ist der typische Bergebalken am Heck russischer

Kampfpanzer vorhanden, mit dessen Hilfe ein Selbstbergen

möglich ist. Gewässer mit bis zu 4,5 m Tiefe können nach einer

kurzen Vorbereitung durchfahren werden. In dem relativ engen

Panzer sitzt der Fahrer mittig im Fahrgestell, der Kommandant

rechts und der Richtschütze links im Turm. Der Kommandant

bedient zusätzlich das 12,7 mm NSV Maschinengewehr. Parallel

zur Bordkanone ist noch ein 7,62 mm PKT Maschinengewehr

eingebaut. Neben der russischen Armee (T-90A) nutzen auch

Algerien und Aserbaidschan die Exportvariante (T-90SA).

The T-90 is the most modern battle tank in the Russian army.

The second generation T-90A has been in production since

1999. The biggest distinguishing features when compared to

the original T-90 are the new track end links, the welded turret

and the engine. The T-90A still uses a 125 mm smooth-bore

gun that can ﬁ re various types of munitions including guided

missiles. It carries 45 rounds of ammunition, 22 of of which are

in the magazine of the automatic loader. The advantageous

low silhouette, the Contact 5 Explosive Reactive Armour and

the TShU-1 Schtora-1 self-defence system designed to decoy

in-coming guided missiles are also retained. The powerful 735

kW (1000 bhp) 12-cylinder diesel engine affords the T-90A high

degree of mobility. The typical recovery bar at the rear of this

Russian Main Battle Tank is still present, enabling a degree of

self-recovery. Water obstacles up to a depth of 4.5 m (14 ft 9 ins)

can be negotiated after a short period of preparation. Within

the relatively cramped area of the tank, the driver is seated

centrally in the chassis, the commander on the right and the

gunner on the left in the turret. The commander also operates

the 12.7mm NSV machine gun. A 7.62 mm PKT machine gun

is still installed parallel to the main armament. In addition to

the Russian Army (T-90A), Algeria and Azerbaijan also use the

export variant, the T-90SA.
